Berea College in Berea, Kentucky...

...held their first ever annual publishing conference this past weekend, and they invited Rose Metal Press to be their first presenter, and Affrilachian poet Bianca Spriggs to be their featured reader:
We spent the better part of the morning presenting on publishing in general, and on Rose Metal Press in particular...
...as well as on how our experiences getting our own work published by large and small presses and publishing houses have influenced our practice as writers and our outlook as editors...
Last but not least, we spent the afternoon hearing pitches for people's various novels, poetry collections and hybrid works:
Major thanks to Vicky Hayes and Loreal Bell of the Learning Center for inviting us to such a great event!

J.A. Tyler reviews COLOR PLATES in the Rumpus...

...and says that "As with all good books, Color Plates has layers, a surface underneath a surface underneath a surface, but there is more at play in Golaski’s book, more refnement than simple addition, more complicated existence than just putting one on top of another – Color Plates sheds skin in each passage, reveals a depth beneath a depth, and unpacks words in a venturous way."

Thanks, J.A. You can read the whole review here.
